Iowa Concealed Carry Classes

Here are the classes we currently offer (check our calendar for current dates)

3 hr Level 1 Firearm Safety Course (This is not an NRA approved course)
Cost: $99 (Prepaid Online) Walk-In is additional $10

This class will meet the certification training requirements for a Iowa Concealed Weapons Permits. We have several locations and Fleet Farm Stores for you to take your Iowa Concealed Weapons Class to include Des Moines, Mason City, Altoona, Waterloo, and Cedar Rapids IA with other cities coming soon.

In a three hour class, it provides hands-on orientation to yours or our action type of pistol in as little as three hours. Our instructor will assist you and provide tips  to get you to level of proficiency you would like to obtain.

If you are new to firearms and the shooting sports, this half day conceal carry program may be the perfect introduction.

Topics covered in the course include:

1. Pistol Cartridges & Components
2. Pistol Knowledge and Safe Gun Handling (one or the other)
   a) Semi-Automatic Knowledge 
   b) Revolver Knowledge
3. Gun Safety Rules
4. Pistol Operation
5. Ammunition Malfunctions
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
7. NO LIVE Fire
8. Holster Selection/Concealment Techniques
   a) Safety and responsibility by law of firearms around children
   b) Restricted Carry Areas
   c) Weapons Laws
   d) Shoot/Don't Shoot Scenarios/Use of Force and Justification

4 Hour Women-ONLY Class
Cost $175 (PrePaid Online) No Walk-Ins

This class meets the certification and re-certification training requirements for the 2011 Iowa CWP

Summary of course content:

• Four hours of course instruction including:

  • Anatomy of Handguns
  • Practical Application
  • Ammunition
  • Fundamentals of Operation
  • Safe Storage and Maintenance
  • Iowa Firearms Law Use and Ownership
• Extended personal range time
• The opportunity to experience an array of firearms
• All handgun use and ammunition is included
• Passport photo if applicable
• Application to the State PLUS notary service and instruction if applicable
• Eye and ear protection included
• Range Fee Included

**Equip 2 Conceal has a NO refund policy. Our products and accommodations are arranged on a student to student basis therefore we cannot provide refunds. If an incident may come up your payment may be transferred to another class for up to 30 days as long as a 48 hour notice has been given. If Equip 2 Conceal cancels a class your deposit or payment will be credited to another class unless the reasons are out of our control. After 6 months there is no credit or transfer.

**Weather related cancellations are possible.  Please insure that you look at our calendar page and the specific class in question to see if it has been cancelled.  You can also contact our Operations center at 1-866-371-6111.  If the class has been cancelled you will need to call and reschedule.  Please have your receipt in hand to expedite this process.  We DO NOT refund for weather related cancellations since these are beyond our control.
